Using criterial and longitudinal evaluation, and the adequacy of the grid of evaluation (Vargas, 2005) we find difficulties (in the forms of the propositions, in the mathematical definitions, logical connectors, among others) faced by the students in an introductory course on mathematical proofs in the career of applied mathematics at a Mexican University, as a result of application of questionnaires (to the third week of the beginning of the course and at the end of the course). Locate these difficulties makes an opportunity to aid them in their learning on formal proofs of mathematics
used in his entire career. Under the types of evaluation applied shows that this serves as tool to identify the difficulties that students have when they learn to demonstrate in mathematics.
