Bridging  Together  the  Eagle  and  the  Condor  for  IK  in  Education

Master Maria  Athie-Martinez
Ayuujk  Researcher  Xaab  Nop  Vargas  Vazquez,
Mayan  Teacher  Mariela  M
This workshop will explore the definition of indigenous Knowledge understood by Indigenous people of the world whose countries were conquered and dominated by the English Empire, and  the  Spanish  Empire. Usually Indigenous people of Latin America work together on some educational projects, while Indigenous people in Canada, Australia and New Zealand collaborate on other academic projects and papers. There are only few efforts that bring together the educational journey of these diverse groups, partly because of language barriers. In this workshop we will experience how two educational projects are applied with Indigenous and non Indigenous students while basing education in the Indigenous Knowledge of Ayuujk and Maya people.
